Former Polygon Labs President and YouTube veteran Ryan Wyatt steps into the role of Chief Growth Officer at Optimism Unlimited Ltd., focusing on nurturing the development within Optimism’s blockchain network.
Optimism Unlimited Ltd., a part of the Optimism Foundation, has announced the appointment of Ryan Wyatt as its Chief Growth Officer.
Wyatt's recruitment comes just a few months following his departure from Polygon Labs, amidst a reshuffling of its management.
In his new role at Optimism Unlimited Ltd., a subsidiary under the Optimism Foundation, Wyatt's primary focus will be to bolster blockchain development initiatives and aid developers in integrating and thriving within the Optimism blockchain ecosystem. The Optimism Foundation plays a vital role in fostering a thriving community of enterprises and developers that utilize Optimism's technologies, notably its OP Mainnet, which is recognized as the second-largest layer-2 network on top of Ethereum.
Coinbase, the American cryptocurrency exchange, leveraged technology from OP Labs, a key developer behind Optimism, for its Base blockchain launch earlier this year.
Wyatt's departure from Polygon Labs as president occurred in July, aligning with the promotion of Marc Boiron from Chief Legal Officer to CEO.
Bringing a rich background in gaming from his tenure at Polygon and a previous engagement at YouTube, where he delved into non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and digital ownership, Wyatt brings a diverse array of experiences to his new role. In a conversation with CoinDesk, Wyatt expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Optimism team. "My experiences at YouTube and Polygon were incredibly fulfilling, and I'm proud of my contributions there. Joining Optimism, a team I consider to be the foremost in the crypto space, is an exciting new chapter for me. I'm really looking forward to what we can achieve together at Optimism."
